Sometimes You Meet the Greatest People
2009-10-02 by Lori Smith

The Mid-Ohio Valley is full of great people with interesting stories and an amazing work ethic.  Being a business owner isn't always easy, they have many challenges but the one thing they all have in common is a love of what they are doing and it shows.

New chamber member Teresa Law owner of Small Steps Daycare & Preschool started her business 11 years ago.  She didn't know a thing about running a business but she saw a need for reliable childcare and with the help of Pamela Lankford with the Small Business Development Center she was able to make her dream a reality.  Small Steps Daycare & Preschool is located at 4945 State Route 339 in Vincent.

Ken Meeks is owner of Ken's Care Repair located at 6900 State Route 339 in Vincent.  Ken has been doing car repair since he was 12 years old.  In the picture you will see Ken's 4-legged friend Cuddles...he greets all the visitors at Ken's as they walk in the door.

Hickory Grove Country Market located at 5525 State Route 339 is celebrating their one-year anniversary on October 6.  This is a full service grocery with a deli (including large dining area) fresh meats, homemade salads and desserts, fresh produce, gas and best of all some great customer service.  Mike Abbot Manager at Hickory Grove is pictured with the Ambassadors.  We also want to send a congratulations to Andy the employee of the month.

Bob Pennock, Manager of Price Inland Terminal Services located at 3059 Washington Blvd. (right on the Ohio River) is a petroleum engineer who caught the river transportation bug.  He manages barges unloading tons of product each day.  Price Inland also services industry up and down the river with their own barges and mobile conveyors they can unload directly at a plant.  This is one efficient business!

Teresa Turner owner of General Graphics can supply all of your promotional material needs!  This lady is a dynamo and has a reputation as one of the hardest working women in the area.  She also serves as President of the Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce.
